NADI SHODHANA | ALTERNATE NOSTRIL BREATHING
Breath-work | 10 mins
L 0-1 (Beginner)
Alternate Nostril Breathing, better known in Ayurveda as {nadi shodana}, is a deeply cleansing {pranayama} breathwork practice with far-reaching benefits. Named after the Sanskrit words {nadi} meaning ‘channel of flow’, and {shodana} meaning ‘purification’, this tri-doshic practice purifies the channels of the mind and body, which brings all three doshas – Vata, Pitta and Kapha – back into harmonious balance.
What’s the secret behind {nadi shodana}? Breathing in one nostril infuses the body with oxygen and breathing out of the other releases toxins, which in turn can reduce stress and anxiety, calm and rejuvenate the nervous and respiratory systems, support hormone balance and nurture mental clarity and focus. Join Bhavisha and learn the practice to get all the tools you need to make it a regular part of your ritual.
