Yoga and Ayurveda, two sister sciences for health and beauty

Yoga and Ayurveda

Yoga and Ayurveda have been intertwined since forever. According to the ancient ayurvedic texts, yoga is one of the main branches of Vedic teaching, a significant part of the ayurvedic routine for thousands of years. At KAMA Ayurveda, we consider yoga and Ayurveda as sister sciences. We share their goals - to bring balance and health, to unite the body, mind, and soul, and to infuse beauty, kindness, and wonder into each and every day of our lives.

Ayurvedic yoga for health and wellbeing

Ayurveda has so many treatments up its sleeve to help you achieve that ultimate state of health! From amazing massage therapies to powerful herbal preparations, and even {marma} manipulation (think acupuncture without needles!). And let's not forget about {panchakarma}, the ultimate cleanse, and {rasayana}, the ultimate rejuvenation.

Why should you do yoga?

Any Ayurvedic physician would suggest incorporating yoga into your lifestyle review. The physical postures, {asanas}, can assist in balancing the doshas and gently realigning the body. A great yoga practice also involves {pranayama}, or breathwork and meditation. Unfortunately, this aspect is often overlooked in many Western classes.

The main branches of yoga

We mostly know about Hatha yoga in the West, which is all about the physical poses {asanas}. But there's more to it! Raja yoga is big on meditation, Karma yoga is all about selflessly serving others, Bhakti yoga is about devotion, Jhana yoga is all about studying ancient yogic texts.

Timeless teachings and ancient wisdom

At KAMA Ayurveda we believe in the timelessness of these teachings and our hope is that we can introduce you to their ancient wisdom in a way that perfectly fits into our busy, modern lives. All our products, from our Bringadi Scalp & Hair Oil through our Kumkumad Revitalising Facial Oil to our Wrinkle-smoothing Amarrupa Smoothing Facial Oil are carefully produced according to ayurvedic principles linked with yogic sensibilities.

Yoga and Ayurveda?  Ayurveda and Yoga?  Whichever way you approach it, they’re the dream team.
