Yin | 20 mins
Level 1 (all-levels)
For Yoga day, try this Ayurvedic summer exercise, which requires only 20 minutes out of your schedule, with The Yoga Class’ Laura Dodd as she guides us through a slow and steady yin yoga practice to soothe the muscles, open up the hips and back body, lower the heart and respiration rate and calm the nervous system.
Dominated by Pitta energy, the summer season – and its intensifying heat – leaves many of us feeling overactive and flustered. During the warmer months, to temper this Pitta fever, you may well find that a slow, cooling and calming movement practice, either indoors or outdoors, suits you better than the intensive exercise that keeps your fire burning in winter.
